Almond & Pistachios French Toast

Bringing nuts and flavor watering ingredients to your breakfast. This French Toast is super easy to make. Just grab a few ingredients, a pan and finish it off in the broiler for the caramelized and candied feel and taste.

Ingredients:


Custard

1 large whole egg

1/4 cup orange juice

1/4 cup whole milk

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 tsp of nutmeg

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp cinnamon

powder sugar to dust over

a pinch of salt


3 slices of day old bread ( I used brioche in this one )

  1. Lightly beat the egg in a bowl. Stirring in the the rest of the ingredients except for the cinnamon and powder sugar.

  2. Heat up the skillet to medium-heat so that it's ready for the bread.

  3. Dip one slice of bread into mix, soaking up the liquid on each side. Make sure to drip off any excess mixture before placing them in the pan.

  4. Add butter to the pan and once melted, add the soaked corn bread. Cook until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. Repeat the process for the rest of the soaked bread.

  6. Transfer the French toast to an oven safe baking pan, spoon leftover mix and nuts over each toast. grille on high for 5 min.

To Assemble

  1. Place of the French toast side by side on your favorite plate. Sift powdered sugar, over and drizzle with maple syrup.

  2. Enjoy.
